I can basically repeat most of what I wrote last year as a major part of the trends is still popular:
Granted, the amount of likes doesn’t dictate the quality, but it is interesting to see what kind of images were the most popular this year. From what I can see, juxtapositions are still in favour, especially those including a visual interaction between the subject and the background, like in the themes ‘Matching Cow’ and ‘When a Wall Copies the Animal’. Optical illusions are popular as well, hence the two most-liked images from the ‘So Far, So Close’-theme.
For 2021 I wish you lots of happy shooting, and the confidence to find your own photographic voice without worrying too much about likes and comments. That said, I’m always happy to discover new repeats to continue the StreetRepeat journey, so I’ll leave you to it with this ambiguous message. Have a good year, hopefully this one will be better than 2020.
