The festival was opened when we walked through the curtain and were able to see the exhibition of the guest photographers and all the contest finalists.

Pau Buscató couldn’t be with us in person, but he did his presentation through a video call.
He talked about luck in street photography and how we should ‘give chance a chance’. Also he stated: “It all started like a game and it still feels like that. A game that takes a lot of energy and also eats shoes.”

After that, Alex Liverani discussed the process of publishing a photography book, with writer and photographer David Gibson, and photographer Tavepong Pratoomwong. Gibson, himself an author of several successful books like the Street Photographer’s Manual, has written the preface for Pratoomwong’s book. Gibson was impressed by the online sales of Pratoomwong’s self-published book Good Day Bad Day But Everyday, due to his large following on social media.

And during the day, in between the presentations and talks, visitors could join one of the photowalks. In this case with Tavepong.

The next day, we did another presentation, together with Elisa Tomaselli and Benedetta Falugi. It was a talk about female street photography, and after having presented our own works and inspiration, there was a brief discussion about the existence or non existence of a female vision in the genre.

Lunch with Ivana Lorusso, Valeria Tofanelli, David Gibson, Lorenzo Catena, Pierfranco Fornasieri. Pierfranco taught us to eat a typical Roman dish, fried artichoke, and to combine it with red wine.

In the afternoon it was time to present the two big ‘masters’ of the festival; well-known Italian photographer Franco Fontana, and Greek-Italian MAGNUM photographer Nicos Economopoulos.

Another highlight of the festival took place in the evening with the announcement of the contest winners. You can see some of the finalists and winners below this article as well.

And to conclude, of course, in a restaurant with delicious Italian food, where Bojan Nikolic never stopped taking photos.

We all look back on a beautiful event, where individual photographers and visitors were brought together. We enjoyed the presentations, workshops, photo walks, conversations, all of it.
